The IMO has amended the provisions of the FAL convention on mandatory electronic data exchange in ports for ship clearance. It has been made mandatory for public authorities to establish, maintain and use single window (SW) systems for the electronic exchange of information required on arrival, stay, and departure of ships in ports. In addition, public authorities will have to combine or coordinate the electronic transmission of the data to ensure that information is submitted or provided only once and re-used to the maximum extent possible.
The Company will develop a platform that will provide a mandatory single window to its users as per the amended provision, along with adhering to the FAL committee’s approved guidelines on authentication, integrity, and confidentiality of information exchanges via Maritime Single Windows.
The Company's platform will be harmonized with IMO recommended Maritime Single Window (MSW) through its API, enabling users to provide all the information (required by the authorities) on a single platform, thus avoiding duplication and saving significant time. The platform will enable all stakeholders (users/clients) involved in the business process to input the data and information used by other stakeholders only once (by using a single point of data entry and storage). The platform will harmonize and standardize the information exchange between commercial and administrative stakeholders and provide fast, reliable, paperless, and efficient transactions.
The Company’s platform will use its API technology to connect different port websites to its single window web platform, streamlining the data collection process during transit, which could be a challenging and time-consuming activity.
